Saying Our Goodbyes

Day13

Today was a slow day, as it is a national holiday in Rwanda.  We spent a little bit of time in the early afternoon running some last minute errands.  Then we headed over to the school in Remera, where many of the sponsored students attend school.  We were able to meet with some of those sponsored students.

One newly sponsored student is Ange, which is French for "angel."  She absolutely stole our hearts!  She was abandoned by her parents when she was a baby.  The "cell leader," or a leader in the neighborhood, took her in and raised her.  She was precious.  She came right up to us and gave us hugs, and then spent quite a lot of time sitting in Sarah's lap.  Whenever we'd take a photo, she'd just give her a kiss!  Pray for this sweet girl who doesn't know who her parents and probably feels the emotional weight of being abandoned.  Pray also for the cell leader, that she would continue to raise her in love.

Ange!
