Checking in from Kigali after a great 2nd and 3rd day. We are eating dinner out again tonight so that everyone can have an opportunity to check in with those back home.
While the women met for their afternoon session, the rest of the team met with 20 students who go to the church for tutoring in the afternoons. Throughout our preparations for this trip, we have prayed and prayed for The Lord to put opportunities in our path to share His love with the children here. Today was definitely an answer to this prayer!!
We didn't even know that these children came to the school. The team shared the gospel with the children and taught them a bible story. The man who tutors them was very excited that we wanted to do something with the children. He spoke English very well and translated for us- such a blessing! Some of the children were giggling while Brogan shared her testimony with them. The tutor explained to us that those students are Muslim and what she was saying did not make sense to them. Pray for the seeds that were planted with these students.
This morning (Sunday) we went to Esron's church in Remera. Wayne taught on fellowship with God. The church is always very encouraged by Wayne's teaching and the fact that we are there to worship with them. Likewise, it is such a blessing to us to worship with our brothers and sisters here.
This afternoon, we led another session at the women's conference. We talked about discipleship and how as women, they can leave great legacies in the people they mentor and disciple. Because some of them will leave before tomorrow morning's last session, we gave them the purses we collected for them. I wish that you all could have seen their faces as we gave them the purses- the women were elated! (And we were oh, so blessed to witness their excitement.) Thank you to everyone who donated these- we could not have done this without so many generous donations.
Love the updates and pictures! Praying for you guys.
