Day 1

The team checked in from Kigali today.

"Our flights went well.  We arrived in Kigali Saturday evening around 8pm.  Esron and Ellie met us at the airport and brought us to the Ligue.  We settled in a little and crashed.  Slept pretty good under our mosquito nets, considering it's our first night here.

Sunday morning was the first time to see the Ligue in the daylight- such a beautiful view!  We had breakfast together- oatmeal, bananas, eggs, bread and coffee.

Our driver Ellie came at 10 to take us to church.  We arrived and were greeted with many hugs.  Singing had already begun.  We were taken inside and seated at the front.  Wayne preached from 1 John 4:7-11.

{not actually taken in 2010.}

We had lunch with Pastor Esron and his family.  It was very nice, they are so hospitable!

After lunch, Esron and Ishmael took us on a tour of the school grounds.  We're excited to return later in the week and meet the teachers and children.

Then we went back to our rooms to rest for a bit before coming to eat dinner and get on the internet."

Their plans are to travel to the northwest tomorrow and visit 3 different churches that One27 has supported in the past.  Pray for safety in their travels and endurance for the team- tomorrow will be a long day.

Wayne and Esron are working to finalize details of the week- pray that plans will come together so that the hours our team is in Rwanda will be multiplied.

Thanks for following along.  Continue to check back in for more updates!

  1. That is not the church/school that you put a roof on, is it? Praying for the time there!
