Brazos Christian School students raise scholarship funds

As part of their Homecoming week festivities, students at Brazos Christian School held a Penny Drive on behalf of our friend Christine.  The students joyously brought pocketfuls and jarfuls of coins and dollar bills for Christine’s school fees to help her reach her dream of earning a High School diploma in Rwanda.

At first, the high school students competed by class against each other to see who could raise the most money.  By Tuesday the junior high students had joined in on the competition.  The competition resulted in $2100 raised, over $600 of that being brought by the winning Junior class!

As we were leaving Kigali this past summer, we knew that Christine’s wish to finish secondary school was a high priority in our hearts.  However, we never once imagined that the Lord would meet this need through the students and faculty that we know and love at BCS.  Just as parents love to watch their children love each other, so were our hearts warmed to see the BCS students love Christine.   We pray this brings the Lord blessing and glory to see His children love each other.

The $2100 raised will not only fund Christine’s last two years of high school, but will also fund a complete year of education at the Primary School we partner with in Remera for 5 primary students!  What a blessing!

THANK YOU to the students, faculty, and parents at Brazos Christian School.
Our hearts overflow with gratitude to the One who can do all things.
