Rwanda 2013: Official Trip Report

Last month, our team traveled to Rwanda with One27.

The gospel was shared with over 500 people.

The following were funded by One27:

WOMEN'S CONFERENCE for 57 church leaders and pastors' wives from all parts of Rwanda.  One27 provided travel funds, lodging, meals, and teaching supplies.  This was the first women's conference to be hosted by One27 and was a great success.

PASTORS' TRAINING for 21 pastors representing17 different churches (many with a very large population of widows and orphans) from villages all over Rwanda.  One27 provided travel funds, lodging, meals, and teaching supplies.  This was the 5th pastor training One27 has hosted.

YOUTH CONFERENCE for 53 youth and leaders representing all regions of Rwanda.  The youth (loosely defined as anyone under 30 who is not married) were taught by team members how to live out the Great Commission and share the Gospel in their villages.

SCHOOL TUITION for 21 students to finish the 2013 calendar year at the Remera CEER Primary School.

WOMEN'S PROJECT: Money was provided for two women's groups to start raising funds to meet the needs of local women: a goat project in Kabuga and a pig project in Ruhengeri.
BIBLES: Over 120 Bibles were distributed at the Women's and Youth Conferences and at village churches we visited.

Team members led classes at the Remera CEER Primary School during the week, sharing songs, crafts, and Bible stories with each class.  In addition to the work in the schools, 20-30 children would gather at the church after school hours for activities with the team.

The team traveled to visit and encourage village churches in Kabuga, Murundi, and Ruhengeri.

Since returning home, further donations have allowed One27 to continue meeting several needs encountered on the trip.  One27 has been able to pay school tuition for 24 additional children at the Remera CEER Primary School AND put $4,000 towards the construction of a new school in Murundi.

This trip was made possible by the generosity of our supporters.  Thank you for being a part of the Lord's work in Rwanda.
